Celebrity Cruise passengers with bookings for its South America itineraries from November 21, 2024, to March 1, 2025, have been canceled. In light of this development, automatic payment refunds will be remitted to customers with stateroom credits that they can use toward future bookings. Originally, the Celebrity Equinox was scheduled to embark on a series of cruises that included Argentina, Brazil, and Chile in its November 2024 to March 2025 itineraries. It also offered 14-night cruises to Patagonia, the Falkland Islands, and Antarctica. With these changes, the Solstic-class ship will instead offer new seven-night sailings in the Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida. Such itineraries have become quite popular for their ideal length and the accessibility of their embarkation port.
Celebrity explained that the Equinox will become the first Celebrity cruise ship to sail from Port Canaveral by moving embarkation to the world’s busiest cruise port. “We will be relocating Celebrity Equinox in November 2024, from South America to the Caribbean, to begin conducting new seven-night itineraries as the first-ever Celebrity ship sailing out of Port Canaveral, Florida.” their statement read. According to the Miami-based cruise line, they decided to “elevate” its offerings. These modifications are also taking place as more cruise ships are being homeported in Florida to suit popular Caribbean itineraries.
