Belarusian Tractors on Display at AgriShow in South America

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – The international agricultural expo AgriShow is underway in the Brazilian city of Ribeiran Preto. Belarus is showcasing the products of Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark) there, BelTA has learned.

AgriShow is the largest agricultural event in South America, which is attended by all agribusiness representatives of the continent. The exhibition reminds more of a district or even regional center: the number of participants and visitors exceeds 200,000 people, while the exhibition pavilions occupy the area of 520,000 square meters.

“This year the expo is featuring a record number of exhibitors from over 90 countries. Belarusian tractors are representing our country at this agro-summit for the first time. The MTZ stand draws crowds: our tractors have a great design, which certainly attracts the eyes of local farmers. Being used to the price of $100,000 or more for the American or European tractor, they are really surprised to see our prices,” Belarusian Ambassador to Brazil Sergei Lukashevich told BelTA.

Belarusian tractors displayed at AgriShow will suit every taste and pocket of Brazilian farmers: there are small but maneuverable models for individual farmers and large multifunctional machinery for large farms. Specialists of MTZ, Smorgon Aggregate Plant, Bobruisk Tractor Parts and Aggregates Plant, Borisov Plant Metallist are present at the exhibition. Representatives of Gomselmash are also set to visit the expo.

“We are already working on the next stage – the construction of assembly facilities for the production of Belarusian tractors in Brazil. We expect that the development of the Brazilian tractor will take place with our direct participation,” the Belarusian diplomat said.
